Jalandhar News- Massive Yuva Sammelan in city

Jalandhar, September 29, 2013: To celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a massive yuva sammelan was organised at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium here on Sunday.

Atul Kothari, National Convener, Shiksha Bachao Andolan, Brig (Retd) Jagdish Gagneja, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varun Roojam were present on the stage.

A cultural programme was organised, which was focused on ideology of Swami Vivekananda.

Addressing a mammoth gathering of the youths, Kothari spoke about life and works of Swami Vivekananda. He highlighted the Swami’s work done with regard to the youth of the nation and the country as well. He cited several instances from the life of Swami Vivekananda. He specially spoke about the touching, historic and memorable address by Swami Vivekananda in Chicago.

Brig (Retd) Jagdish Gagneja said teachings of Swami Vivekananda were still relevant in the present era. He asked the youths to follow the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda. He categorically said nobody would be allowed to revive militancy in Punjab. He made an appeal to the youths to keep themselves away from the menace of drugs and asked them to work for nation building. He also asked the youths of the country to always keep a positive attitude towards life.

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varun Roojam also spoke.

BJP state president Kamal Sharma, Punjab Minister Bhagat Chuni Lal, CPS Som Parkash, CPS Krishan Dev Bhandari, BJP national executive member Manoranjan Kalia, Mayor Sunil Jyoti, PTU Vice Chancellor Rajneesh Arora, RSS Media In-charge Punjab Ram Gopal, RSS Parcharak Chander Kant, Rajat Mohindru, Rakesh Shantidoot, Ravi Mahendru, Satish Kapur, Karishma Kapur, Balraj Kapur,Vipan Sharma, Karan Kalia, Vinod Sharma and others were present on the occasion.
