Jalandhar, October 12, 2015; At, KMV, Jalandhar-The Heritage Institution, an extension lecture on Swami Vivekanand was organised jointly by the Department of Hindi and History. Prominent creative writer and Ex-Head Department of Hindi GNDU, Amritsar Prof.Dr.Harminder Singh Bedi from Punjab was the key speaker for the day. He jointly addressed the students and the faculty on the occasion. Dr.Bedi began by talking about the most formative influence on Swami Vivekanand. He outlined that Swami ji’s Guru, Sri Ram Krishan Paramhans was instrumental in making him how we know him today. The man who left an indelible mark on the august gathering of religious leaders in Chicago, was a man of unprecedented spiritual knowledge and radiant revolutionary personality. He revolutionized the view point of not only Indian but the whole world. Dr. Bedi also said that Swami  Ji’s various visits to Punjab , as it was before independence revealed his emotional attachment. Dr. Bedi’s talk at many places like an interesting narrative took the students on the enthralling journey of Swami Ji’s life, in which he accomplished big missions in a short-span. He popularized Indian culture in America, Europe and many other countries across the globe. He concluded by saying that Vivekanand Ji was symbolic of Youth-Power. Youngsters should emulate him and struggle for positive and radical changes around them. Head Dept. of Hindi Mrs. Vindod Kalra thanked Dr. Bedi for sparing his valuable time for young students, who needed to be inspired by such great internationally famous personalities.
