Extension Lecture on Export Procedures and Development held at PU Regional Centre, Ludhiana

Ludhiana, March 28, 2015: An extension lecture is held in the Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana on Export Procedures and Development. A large number of students and Faculty members of University Business School, Ludhiana and University Institute of Law, Ludhiana participated in the lecture.

M S Dhillon, Joint Director General, Foreign Trade, Ludhiana and Amit Sharma, Assistant Director General, Foreign Trade from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India were invited for interaction with the students.

Ravi Inder Singh, Coordinator Management Department extended welcome to the guests and the participants. He also sensitized the audience about the importance of the lecture.

Dr. Arti Puri, Coordinator LLB while speaking from the podium stated that there are many unexplored lucrative opportunities for the law students in the areas related to international business.

M. S. Dhillon, Joint Director General Foreign trade, Ludhiana informed that Ministry of Commerce and Industry has initiated a scheme called “Niryat Bandhu”. He told that the main objective of this scheme is to spread awareness about the export rules and procedures among the youth and to act as mentor for them and help them in starting and establishing exporting ventures.

Amit Sharma, Assistant Director General, Foreign Trade, Ludhiana gave detailed presentation about the various important rules ought to be known by the first generation entrepreneurs. He told that all the people who want to enter the export business need to have export code number. He also told about the various committees and the boards which have been constituted by the ministry for the help of exporters. After the presentation, an interactive session was also held with the participants to address to their queries.

Dr. H.S. Gosal, Director, Regional Centre extended vote of thanks to M S Dhillion and Amit Sharma. He further informed that more such lectures from experts from industry, judiciary and academia are planned in the near future.
