DRUG PEDDLER HELD, Rs.1.25 crore heroin recovered

Ferozepur, February 13, 2013: The Ferozepur police have arrested Mohra Ram, resident of Bir Sarkar area of Palla Heed falling under Guruharsahai Tehsil, a notorious peddler with recover of heroin worth Rs.1.25 crore besides seizing of 30 liters of acetic anhydride chemical, used to manufacture psychotropic substances.

Mohra Ram was already involved in number of drug smuggling and theft cases and was absconding.  The accused under lock at Sub-jail Fazilka during August 2012 on judicial remand and later on, managed to get admission in civil hospital Fazilka on the pretext of illness from where he fled away giving fillip to the security guards.  Mohra Ram allegedly in association with his brother Bhai Binder Singh was doing smuggling of intoxicant substances and heroin and 12 days back, he had stolen, a tractor Farmtrack-60 from the Dhani of Megha Rai with the assistance of his brothers.

According to SSP, the stolen tractor has also been recovered by the police and further investigation in this case is still going on and more clues are expected to come on surface which would help in further investigating the matter.  The places of other accomplice of the accused are also being raided, he added.
