Dr.Cheema Orders DEO To Immediately Release Treatment Expenses To Acid Attack Victim Girl Student

Chandigarh, March 16, 2016: Taking immediate notice of the tragic incident that took place with a school student of Singhpura village in district Gurdaspur, Dr.Daljit Singh Cheema Education Minister Punjab directed District Education Officer to immediately release Rs 50 thousand for the treatment of the student. Acid was thrown on this student while returning from school and the attack was by a student from the same school itself.
In the wake of this tragedy, Dr.Cheema immediately asked SSP Batala to take an immediate action against the culprit. The victim student has been referred to Guru Nanak Medical Hospital , Amritsar. The Education Minister also asked the Deputy Commissioner Amritsar to ensure special care and treatment of the victim.
He called upon DPI Mr. Balbir Singh to immediately release Rs 50 thousand to the District Education Officer Amritsar, for the girl's treatment and also directed the District Education Officer to personally visit the student in the hospital and report her condition to him.
Education Minister also spoke to the doctors of Guru Nanak Medical Hospital and especially to Mr. Najider Singh, the father of the victim and assured that the education department was with him. He also assured the girl's father that the Punjab government would extend full support and the student will be given full justice.
