Jalandhar, November 7, 2014: A Drama Workshop was organised at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar by the Dept. of English on the topic, ‘How to interpret a movie and a play’. In this event, a group discussion was organized for the students and faculty members on the famous play All My Sons by Arthur Miller that is prescribed in the syllabus of final year classes.  A movie was also screened to discuss the various facets of journey of the play from theatre to movie. Shefali from BA Final Year gave a synopsis of the play and students discussed the topics like differences of play on stage and a movie, justification with character sketches by actors, theme of the play etc.

Principal Dr. Sucharita said today’s generation is more inclined towards using gadgets and when they watch curriculum related movies in a drama workshop along with group discussions, it gives them  better exposure into the nuances of the play. Dr. Sunit Kaur addressed the students and said that such healthy discussions are need of the hour in this digital era. It helps the students in grasping all the details of literature.
