CMC observes the New Born Week
Ludhiana, November 24, 2017: Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana observed the New born week on 24th Nov, 2017 on the theme “Reducing gendergap in Neonatal survival – time to act” by Pediatric Nursing and Pediatric Medicine department.
Speaking on this occasion Dr.Inderpreet Sohi, Unit head Neonatology, CMC Hospital, Ludhiana talked about the theme and encouraged the mothers and relatives about the care of new born girls.
Mrs.Balqis Victor Associate Professor, Obstetrics Gynecology department, College of Nursing gave a talk on “Diet for Antenatal and post natal mothers”. Mrs.Prem Lata Prakash, Associate Professor, HOD Child health nursing department encouraged mothers for breast feeding and taught about its benefit, technique and weaning diet.

B.Sc and M.Sc nursing students prepaid posters on Breastfeeding, diet in pregnancy , danger signs of new born, Kangaroo mother care and also put up stalls on clothing for new born according to season, diet supplements for mother during pregnancy and gave demonstration on the technique of baby bath. Certificates were distributed to all the students. Mrs. Ponnamma R Singh, Principal College of Nursing supported the students. Kanika Sharma MSc nursing student proposed the vote of thanks.
