Ludhiana, November 10, 2015: To check the incidents of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in some parts of the state, District Magistrate Ludhiana Mr Rajat Agarwal has ordered to hold "Thikri Pehras" in all parts of the district (excluding the areas falling under the jurisdiction of Police Commissonerate Ludhiana) with immediate effect. Mr Agarwal has ordered to hold "Thikri Pehras" in all villages as well as religious places so that the incidents of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji can be checked. These orders have been issued by the District Magistrate under section 3 of Punjab Village Towns/Patrol Act 1918 and section 144 of CrPC 1973. These orders would remain till January 7, 2016.
