Dhindsa calls on Jaitley, participates in empowered committee meeting of state finance ministers

Chandigarh, July 3, 2014: Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Finance and Planning Minister, Punjab today participated in the meeting of empowered committee of States Finance Ministers in New Delhi.
The re-revised Constitutional Amendment bill for GST, received from the Government of India, CST Compensation, Recommendations of the committee on the problem of dual control, threshold and exemptions in GST regime, review of latest position of VAT/Non VAT revenues etc. were discussed in the meeting.
After the meeting, Dhindsa called on Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and apprised him about the fiscal health and financial issues of state. He also sought financial assistance and cooperation from center. Dhindsa said that various financial issues were discussed with Jaitley and the latter assured Center would initiate necessary steps to resolve the issues of Punjab.
