DC Poonch conducts surprise check of Govt offices, suspends absentees

POONCH, APRIL 8, 2017: In order to ensure punctuality, regularity and work culture in Government offices on other day, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Harun paid surprise visit to various government offices of tehsil Mandi and subdivision Surankote.
During the surprise visit, Deputy Commissioner checked Block Development Office Mandi, Tehsil Supply Office Mandi, CDPO office Mandi, Agriculture and Horticulture departments Mandi and found several employees absent from their duties without prior permission.
Taking strong notice of absenteeism, the Deputy Commissioner attached all absentees at district headquarter and concerned heads were directed to submit action taken report in this regard.
Besides, several officials of CDPO Mandi, TSWO Mandi, agriculture and horticulture departments were placed under suspension and disciplinary proceedings were initiated against them.
Earlier, the DC visited irrigation & flood control office Surankote and found nine employees unauthorizedly absent from duty. He ordered suspension of these 9 employees with directions to initiate action against them.
The DC has directed all the district officers to strictly adhere to the office timings so that people does not face hardships. He strongly advocated improvement in work culture and warned of strict action against erring employees in future.
