DAVIET introduces ASCE Student Chapter

Jalandhar, February 2, 2018: DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar added another feather to its crown when one of the oldest departments of this Institute, Department of Civil Engineering, Jalandhar got inaugurated the student chapter of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) at DAVIET. ASCE, a society dedicated to the advancement of science and profession of Civil Engineering and enhancement of student welfare through the activities of members.
Welcoming the representatives of ASCE, Er.Gursharan Singh Rosha, President ASCE (Northern Region) & Sh.Haramrit Sandhu, Assistant Professor (PEC Chandigarh), Dr.Sanjeev Naval, Head, Department of Civil Engineering highlighted the role of Knowledge, Skill & Behaviour for successful engineering careers. Speaking on the occasion, Er. Gurcharan Singh Rosha explained the activities of ASCE in India & Abroad. Prof.Haramrit Sandhu of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh delivered an expert talk on Remote Sensing on the occasion.
This prestigious event was attended by the diligent and cognizant faculty and the inquisitive students of the department. Vote of thanks was proposed by one of the students of 3rd year, Brahmjot Kaur, who also on behalf of all the students of the department promised to live upto the expectations of ASCE and will display their skills at the forthcoming events under ASCE. The Principal of DAVIET Dr.Manoj Kumar, congratulated the department for the efforts.
