Ludhiana, December 26, 2015: In the month of December when most of the people are enjoying and indulging in merry making through gifts, parties and events, there is a section of society that is not privileged enough to enjoy the same. 
Bringing a smile on these faces, CT Group of Institutions initiated a special activity to celebrate and spread the spirit of Christmas on the ‘Gift Away Christmas’ theme. Faculty, Staff and Students from both Maqsudan and Shahpur campuses donated bags and woolens, clothes, food grains, eatables etc which were distributed among needy residents of Jamalpur Hundreds of residents were benefited with this effort. CT Institute of Hotel Management students baked some Christmas goodies like cup cakes, muffins and puddings, which were also distributed among these children. The aim of forming this “Santa’s Brigade” was to reinforce the idea that the society is an extension of our family as well as to instill a feeling of gratitude, thereby understanding the real spirit of Christmas.
The event had distributing gifts to having fun activities to providing medical kits. Students sung variety of rhythmic renditions of Christmas carols and dance performances were presented.
Keeping the festive spirit alive, Dr. Rohit Sarin (Director, CT Institute of Hotel Management) said, “As kids, we loved the idea of cakes and chocolates during Christmas and New Year’s. So we decided to pass on the same cheer and excitement for these young ones.” 
Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions)said that the idea was to spread happiness to those who do not have access to even basic things in life. It is a combined Christmas and New Year’s party wherein we will distribute gifts and sweets. He said, “We all know that service to God is service to mankind and thus, when we conduct such events, it gives us immense pleasure to see them happy and smile. Not many care to spare a thought for the poor people.” Mr. Singh also thanked the students and management members for contributing the essentials in a great number for donation.
