Ludhiana, April 13, 2015: Taking its commitment for providing employment to the unemployed youth of the state, the Punjab government will be organising an "Employment Fair" in Government High School, Mundian Kalan area (main Chandigarh Road) of Ludhiana on April 18. Punjab Irrigation Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon informed that this Employment Fair would be organised under the supervision of District Administration, and more than 40 companies would recruit more than 700 youth and there is possibility of more than 3000 youth to reach in fair. Dhillon informed that around 3,000 youth are expected to attend this "Employment Fair".
While holding a meeting in this regard at Circuit House, here, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon took stock of the situation and issued necessary directions in this regard.
Providing further information, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that 40 different companies from different parts of the state would set up their stalls and issue appointment letters to more than 700 youth after interviewing. He further informed that the special thing about this fair is that even less educated youth can also participate because along with well educated youth, the companies would also be recruiting less educated and even uneducated youth as well.
He informed that the Employment Fair would be organised from 9am to 6pm and Deputy Commissioner Rajat Agarwal and other senior district administration officials would be present throughout the day so that the applicants don';t face any problem. He said that the companies would recruit the youth as per their educational qualifications.
Sharanjit Singh Dhillon informed that the uneducated and less educated youth would be provided information about self employment and the District Administration would also assist them in securing bank loans on less rate of interest. He said that the banks would also be setting up their stalls along with stalls of other government departments such as Horticulture, Dairy, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. Chamber of Industrial Commercial Undertakings (CICU) would also assist the district administration.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included SDM (East) Paramjit Singh, District Employment Officer Lakshya Gupta, SB Singh from CICU, OSD to Irrigation Minister Sehajpreet Singh Mangat, besides several others.
