Ludhiana, November 22, 2017: The CPI is organizing a state level massive rally of peasants, workers, khet mazdoors, women, youth students, intellectuals, employees and other sections of people at 11 am on 27th November in Dana Mandi, Gill Road, Ludhiana, against the forces of communalism which is endangering the unity and integrity and mutual harmony of our country.
At a joint press conference here today Com.Hardev Singh Arshi, State Secretary, Punjab State Council, and Dr Joginder Dayal, National Executive, and State Secretariat Members of CPI added forces of Hindutva have unleashed such a terror where the minorities and those who are opposed to this are being threatened with dire consequences. Intolerance is becoming the order of the day under BJP rule. The rally will focus on, apart from above mentioned danger, the problems of all sections of society, which are outcome of the new liberal economic policies of LPG.
Unemployment is touching all-time high. The ‘Make in India’ of Narendra Modi, in place of ‘Made In India’ is causing the economic ruin of small, middle and common businessmen and ordinary people. GST and Demonetisation, which were brought as panacea to unearth black money has resulted in whitening the black of corporates, big money holders and near dears of BJP elite. Black money in foreign banks or investments was promised to bring back and deposit in accounts of people, but it has just turned over to be a Modi trademark phrase (jumla) and nothing has happened. Even the names of Indians in Panama Papers’ Black list are not being published. Why? It is obvious. GST has ruined the small traders, industrialists and businessmen. Promises made by BJP of creating jobs, ending corruption and removing poverty are still the decoration of papers only.
And here in Punjab, the state government of Captain Amarinder Singh, which also made shower of promises of loan writing off, one job for every house hold, social schemes, health, education, ending of narcotics mafia, actually nothing has been implemented, except further excuses and hollow further promises. Law and order situation has deteriorated. Gangsters are easily operating from inside and outside of jails. Atrocities on Dalits, women and weaker sections are on increase.
The separatist forces who are operating inside or outside our country are bent upon destroying our hard earned peace. Mafias such as drug, land, transport etc whom Captain had promised to curb, are openly operating and actually flourishing under his rule.
Agricultural sector is worst affected. Farmers and agricultural labours are committing suicides as in previous regime. Writing of loans have not been done. Industrial sector is in doldrums because centre has given concessions to neighbouring states and industrial units are shifting from here to neighbours.
CPI has been waging constant struggle on the questions of waiving loans, minimum wages, plots, social services, pension, education, one lakh crore economic package to bring out Punjab from financial crisis, employment guarantee act, due status to Punjabi in Chandigarh and Punjab, basic structure for facilities in urban and rural areas, and so on.
Rally will be addressed by CPI General Secretary S. Sudhakar Reddy, National Secretaries Shameem Faizee, Atul Kumar Anjan, Amarjit Kaur, State Secretary of CPI Hardev Singh Arshi, NE member Dr.Joginder Dayal, State Secretariat members Bhupinder Samber, Jagrup Singh, Nirmal Singh Dhaliwal, and Gurnam Kanwar.
At the press conference Com. Arshi and Dr. Dayal were accompanied by Comrades Jagrup Singh, Nirmal Dhaliwal, Gurnam Kanwar, Kartar Bowani, Kashmir Singh Gadaia and Dr. Arun Mitra, D.P.Maur, Gulzar Goria, Ramesh Rattan, Gurnam Sidhu, Chamkaur Singh and Gurnam Gill.
