CHANDIGARH, NOVEMBER 17, 2017: The Punjab Government agencies and private millers have procured total 17134778 tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till today evening which included 92082 tonnes procured on 17th November.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesman of Punjab Government said that out of total procurement of 17134778 tonnes of paddy in all the procurement centers of Punjab, the Government agencies procured 16876919 tonnes of paddy (98.5%) till date whereas 257859 tonnes (1.5%) of paddy has been procured by millers.
He said that PUNGRAIN had procured 5679337 tonnes (33.1%), MARKFED procured 3739818 tonnes (21.8%). PUNSUP procured 3673971 tonnes (21.4%), PSWC procured 1708317 tonnes (10.0%) and PAFC was able to procure 1705003 tonnes (10%) of paddy. The Central Government agency FCI had been able to procure 370473 tonnes (2.2%).
