Ludhiana, October 28, 2012: Eid-ul-Zuha was celebrated with great enthusiasm here today.
A large number of members of the Muslim community assembled at Jama Masjid in the Field Ganj Area and offered Namaz.
On the occasion, Shahi Imam Habib-ur-Rehman Sani Ludhianvi said this was a very pious day because on this particular day, Hazrat Ibrahim got ready to sacrifice his son Hazrat Ismail to give the message that one should be ready to follow the will of Allah.
He recalled the sacrifices made by Muslims during the independence struggle of the country. He said Muslims were still ready to laid down their lives for unity and integrity of the nation.
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal said Eid-ul-Zuha was a symbol of mutual brotherhood and harmony between different communities. He added this festival gave the message of peace, unity and tolerance to all.
Among others, City Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria was present on the occasion.
