Ludhiana, November 9, 2014: Department of Cardiac anesthesia & Intensive Care at Hero DMC Heart Institute organised a two days conference “6th Annual Conference of North Zone Association of Cardio Thoracic Anesthesiologists (NZACTA) from November 8 to 9 in Dumra Auditorium DMCH. The two day conference is based on the theme ‘Modern updates in Cardiac anesthesia' including training about Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).
Secretary DMCH Managing Society Prem Kumar Gupta inaugurated the conference. The first day of the conference began with workshop on “Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) which was conducted by Dr.Venkat Goyal from Mumbai. Principal DMCH Dr. Daljit Singh, Vice Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Chief Cardiologist Dr GS Wander, Medical Superintendent Dr Sandeep Sharma were also present on occasion.
According to Dr.G S Wander, the conference will provide the participating delegates with the opportunity to learn about the latest clinical advances in research, practice, treatment and care in the field of Cardiac anesthesiology. The lectures by experts in field of cardiac anesthesia, interactive discussion with expert panelist, quiz competition & free paper sessions and poster presentations will definitely encourage the young anesthesiologist .
The speakers during the 2nd day of the session included Dr. Poonam Malhotra from AIIMS New Delhi, Dr. Prabhat Tewari SGPGI Lucknow, Dr. Sanjay Goel from Max Hospital New Delhi & Dr.Sameer Srivastava New Delhi, Dr Sikha Sharma from Gangaram Hospital New Delhi, Dr.Manish Madra Fortis Hospital New Delhi & Dr.Sanjula Virmai GB Pant Hospital New Delhi delivered lectures on various topics such as Transesophageal echocardiography, 'ECHO in ICU’, Neuromonitoring in Cardiac Surgery, Pacemakers, Anesthetic management of Video Assisted Thoracic surgeries, Use of ultrasound in children with heart disease and advancement in the management of cyanotic congenital heart disease. While Dr.Rajesh Mahajan discussed about prevention of infection which is always a concern in operated patients.
Organizing Chairman Dr.Vivek Gupta Cardiac Anesthetist at HDHI- extended warm welcome to the chief guest and other dignitaries present on the occasion. In his address, Dr. Vivek Gupta said that today, the main objective of the meeting is to bring the practicing Cardiac Anesthesiologists on a platform to upgrade the recent advances & approaches in the field of cardiac anesthesia & Critical care including innovative practical applications. He ensured the participating delegates that they will definitely enrich their knowledge regarding Updates in cardiac anesthesia & Critical Care by actively participating in the workshop & conference.
More than 150 delegates participated in the conference The day concluded with Free paper Session & Prize Distribution and Big applause to those who actively participate to make this conference a great success.
