Ludhiana, April 7, 2017: College of Nursing, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana celebrated W.H.O. Day on 7th April, 2017 on the theme “Depression: Let’s Talk”. The program started with prayer and Mrs. Balqis Victor, President, Trained Nurses Association of India (Local Branch) welcomed the Chief Guest and the audience. The Chief Guest, Dr. Gurmeet Chaudhary, Paediatric Medicine Department shared her views on factors responsible for depression among adolescents and how to prevent it.

The theme was highlighted by Prof. (Mrs.) Ponnamma R. Singh, Principal, College of Nursing. Dr. Usha Singh, HOD of Mental Health Nursing Department, shared her views on how depression can lead to addiction and drug abuse among adolescents and its prevention. Dr. Sunita Goyal, HOD of Obstetric & Gynaecological Department, talked about postpartum depression and role of family members in prevention of postnatal depression. Nursing students staged a role play to convey the message on prevention of Depression. Posters were also displayed on the theme by students and Trained Nurses' Association Of India (TNAI)
TNAI members. Mrs. Prem Lata Prakash, Vice President, Trained Nurses Association of India (Local Branch) extended heartfelt gratitude to all present.
