CMC Hospital, Ludhiana observes the Birthday of its Founder – Dame Edith Brown and 125 years of the Institute
Ludhiana, March 24, 2019: Christian Medical College, Ludhiana is observing its quasquicentennial celebrations this year and 24th March happens to be the birthday of its founder – Dame Edith Mary Brown, and this day is observed as the Founder’s Day. To mark this occasion a large crowd gathered at the Children’s Park, at the CMC camps. The choir sang the welcome Invocation song. Director, Dr.William Bhatti welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Sudhir Joseph, Chairman, CMC Hospital. The dignitaries present then lighted the lamp to mark this auspicious occasion. On this occasion Principals - Dr.Reena Jairus (College of Nursing), Dr.Sandeep Saini (College of Physiotherapy) and Dr.Jeyaraj D Pandian (Medical College), Dr.Abi M Thomas (Dental College) addressed the gathering. The Chief Guest Dr. Sudhir Jospeh then Unveiled the Replica of Stupa of Dame Edith Mary Brown and Released the Souvenir. In his address to the gathering Dr. Sudhir congratulated the entire CMC family, well wishers and supporters for continuing the legacy of Treatment, research and education which Edith Brown started and served the nation of this region selflessly. He encouraged everyone with the Moto given by the founder – “My Work is for a King” and with this attitude we can excel and continue to serve the nation. CMC then Felicitated the Philanthropists & CMC Supporters for their constant support and encouragement in taking this institute forward over the years. Dr Anil Luther, Medical Superintendent then gave vote of thanks. The program ended with closing prayer and Benediction by Bishop Younus Massey and then the National Anthem. On this occasion, Mr. SP oswal, Mr. Onkar Pahwa, Mr. Rajinder Gupta, Mr. SN Maini, Dr. Anna (Prinicpal, Vellore), Dr Harish (Friends of Ludhiana - Australia), Dr. William Virgin (Friends of Ludhiana, Canada), were honored for contribution in taking CMC forward.
