Ludhiana, October 22, 2016: Dr.Dinesh Badyal, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacology, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana delivered prestigious Prof.G.Achari oration, at 49th Annual Conference of Indian Pharmacological Society held at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh from 20th to 23rd October, 2016. Sh.Madan Mohan Mittal Cabinet Minister Technical Education & Industrial Training, Government of Punjab, Inaugurated the conference.
Dr. Badyal was invited to deliver this oration as the Eminent Pharmacologist in India based on his work in pharmacology education and research. He was presented with oration award by Professor Jaipul, university of Central Lancashire, UK & general secretary of the Society B. Patel.

In his oration talk Dr. Badyal focused on “Pharmacology education In India: Challenges & relevance” and added that the technological advancements and fast progress in new medicine discovery need to be integrated for further progress of pharmacology education and research. Dr. Badyal also conducted national pharmacology quiz in the conference. The conference was attended by approximately 3000 delegates from India and abroad.

Dr. Badyal has been very actively working the area of pharmacology education for more than 20 years and was selected as Co-Chair & Member of the Subcommittee for Development of Clinical Pharmacology in Emerging Countries for the International Union of Pharmacology (IUPHAR). Dr. Badyal is already a recipient of prestigious “Rajiv Gandhi Gold Medal Award” by Global Economic Progress & Research Association (GEPRA) in 2015, “International Fellowship in Medical Education (IFME)” in 2014, “M. L. Gupta Award” in Medical Education and Technology by Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India in 2012. He has trained doctors in use of simulations in pharmacology education, reporting adverse drug reactions, clinical trials, research methodology, ethics and communication skills. He is faculty in National and International programs in medical education and pharmacology.
