CM Visits Family Of Martyr Captain Ashwani Kumar

Patiala, November 21, 2015: Punjab Chief Minister Mr.Parkash Singh Badal today visited the bereaved family of Captain Ashwani Kumar to share his condolences with the family of the young officer, who had attained martyrdom after being hit by an avalanche in the southern ridge of the Siachen Glacier.
Mourning the sad demise of this brave heart, the Chief Minister said that the state government would ever be at family’s beck and call and leave no stone unturned to help them in this hour of grief. He said that the countrymen would ever remain indebted to unparalleled sacrifice made by Captain Ashwani Kumar, who attained martyrdom while safeguarding the security and sovereignty of the country. Mr. Badal said that all countrymen were with the family of this national hero, who had laid down his life at the altar of his motherland to protect its sovereignty and honour.
The Chief Minister assured the grieved family members that the state government was duty bound to help them in this hour of crisis and every step would be taken to extend a helping hand to the family. On the occasion Mr. Badal also announced a financial help of Rs 10 lakh for the family and gave a cheuqe of Rs 5 lakh to father of martyr on the occasion. He also announced that state government would bear the entire expenditure of study of younger brother of the martyr.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by vice president of SAD Mr. Bhagwan Das Juneja, district President Rural of Shiromani Akali Dal Mr. Deepinder Singh Dhillon, former Chairman of Punjab State Subordinate Service Selection Board Mr. Tejinderpal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chairman Market Committee Mr Nardev Singh Aakri and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varun Roojam.
