Shimla, June 5, 2017: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today said that the State Government was giving added attention to develop and popularize the historical and religious places of the state to give impetus to tourism sector and also generating sufficient self-employment avenues to the local youth.

The Chief Minister was addressing on the occasion of installation (Pratishtha) of Idol of Shaity Naag in newly constructed temple of Shaity Naag Devta at Shatadhar in Seraj area of Mandi district.

He said Himachal Pradesh was known as ‘land of gods’, where the life of people revolves around their deities. The State had rich culture and traditions which were needed to be carry forward and the State Government was working with utmost commitment in this direction. He added that there were numerous beautiful places of historical and religious background in the state like Shaatadhar, which would be developed for tourism activities in near future.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that the state government had taken up various effective steps to preserve the cultural heritage of this hilly state and such places were being connected with road facility besides creating other basic facilities for the pilgrims and tourists.

He assured that Shaatadhar would be developed as a prime tourist destination of the state.

Local MLA Shri Jairam Thakur, Chairman Milkfed Shri Jeet Ram Thakur and President State Youth Congress Shri Vikarmaditya Singh also spoke on the occasion.

Chairman Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation Shri Tek Chand Dogra, Vice Chairman Zila Parished Shri Puran Chand Thakur, APMC Chairman Shri Harender Sain, OSD to Chief Minster Sh. Amit Pal Singh were also present on the occasion.
