Shimla, June 28, 2017: The Dearness Allowance of the employees of the State Industrial Development Corporation has been enhanced by 5 per cent with effect from 1st July, 2016. This was approved by the Board of Directors of the State Industrial Development Corporation in its 256th Meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Agnihotri said that the work on the State of the Art industrial Area Pandoga in Una and Kandrori in Kangra districts has been expedited and the plots would be ready for sale to the entrepreneurs by the first week of August this year. He said that work on Common Facility Centre at Pandoga and Skill development Centre Palkwah would be completed by the end of next month.
Expressing concern over the delay in operationalizing the Baddi Trade Centre, Shri Agnihotri said that the State Government has completed all the formalities in this regard, but the Centre Government was unnecessary delaying this project He said that Tool Room at Baddi was also being delayed by the Union Government. He said that the State Government had provided required land for setting up the Tool Room but unnecessary delay on the part of Central Government was depriving the State of its benefits.
Shri Parmod Sharma, Shri Gagan Kapoor and other members of the Board gave their valuable suggestions on the occasion.

227th Meeting of BoD of K&VI Board held
Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board has earned a profit of Rs 19 crore during the financial year 2016-17. This was disclosed in the 227th meeting of the BoD of HP Khadi and Village Industries held here today under the Chairmanship of Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Agnihotri said that there was a need popularize khadi in a big way so as to make it popular amongst the common man. He said that Khadi Board was not just a profit earning venture, but it was a movement to popularise village industries and carry forward the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. He said that Board was acting as a service provider and employment generator.
He said that under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Scheme, 51 units had been established in the State with an investment of Rs 425.50 lakh. He said that these units were providing employment to 306 people of the State.
Shri Ramesh Chauhan, Vice Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Board welcomed the Minister and detailed various activities of the Board. He assured the Minister that the Board would work with missionary zeal to come upto the expectations of the State Government.

204th Meeting of BoD of HPGIC held
Himachal Pradesh General Industries Corporation(GIC) has earned a net profit of Rs 7.76 crore during the last financial year by its different activities such as country liquor bottling plants, furniture sale, silk production and mining project. This was disclosed in the 204th meeting of the BoD of GIC held here today under the chairmanship of Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri.
Shri Agnihotri said that the GIC registered a sale of Rs 6770.71lakh during the last financial year and this year it has registered sale of Rs 4625.28 lakh till date. He said that the Corporation need to diversify its activities to survive in the competitive world. He said that more pro-active approach would go a long way in strengthening the financial position of the Corporation.
It was also decided in the meeting to release dearness allowance of 3 per cent to the employees of the Corporation w.e.f 1-7-2016.The Board also decided to release DA instalment at the rate of 5 per cent to the pensioners of the Corporation in accordance with the State Government w.e.f 1-7-2016
