Chitkara University student Udey Singh receives scholarship to Germany

Chandigarh, November 3, 2015: Udey Singh, a student at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh of Batch 2013 Computer Science and Engineering with a CGPA of 8.13 has been offered a scholarship funded by Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences, Germany. The selection was made on a very strict criteria formulated by both the universities to select the most capable, effective, suited and intelligent student who can adapt herself/himself according to the new learning and teaching methodologies.

The scholarship includes 1,000 Euros for travel expenses which are approximately Rs 72000, 200 Euros per month as a contribution for living expenses. Udey will stay there for complete one semester i.e. 6 months. In total the university is funding the student with 1.7 Lakhs of Scholarship. Collaborating with other universities and sharing knowledge and resources with universities and academic communities throughout the world is an important part of Chitkara University’s International mission and as a result of this collaboration the Osnabruck University waived of the semester tuition fee for Udey. It also waived fee for participation in the International Summer/Winter Language Course "Culture and Society, Economy and Technology in Germany".

Udey is really happy to join the university for one semester and said he is having a wonderful experience at the University. There are in total 119 students from 36 different nations and he is the only Indian student who has gone to study on a Scholarship program. Udey is really excited to be a part of Chitkara University, he says there are very few Universities in India that focus on internationalization and Chitkara University has definitely given him a lifetime opportunity. He further said that in todays fast moving world, globalization has become a very crucial part in students life. To standout among the Lakhs of engineers that pass out every year one needs to do something extra to out bloom and Chitkara University has given me a wonderful opportunity to blossom.
