Chandigarh, August 24, 2015: Punjab Education Minister Dr.Daljit Singh Cheema has stressed on providing practical training to vocational students. Presiding over a meeting of senior officials of the education department today at Punjab civil Secretariat said that motive of vocational is achieved only if students are able to get jobs or start their own business. 
The Minister asked the officials to ensure practical training to the vocational students under the direct supervision of the instructors.  Dr. Cheema also announced to setup ultra modern labs with latest equipments in the 400 schools providing vocational education. He instructed the officials to send students for training in renowned institutions and Industry.
Dr. Cheema directed the officials to start a recruitment process of teachers on priority and get them placed against the vacant posts. He also asked to prepare the data regarding up gradation of schools keeping in view various aspects to be adopted for this process. He said that while making this data most needy areas should be kept in view and priority should be given to such schools.
Dr. Cheema after consultations with the Punjab School Education Board Chairperson Mrs Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal and Principal Secretary of the Department Mr. C. Raul announced to give a big relief to the schools who have taken reorganisation once need not to take reorganisation again.  He said that schools who have got recognition once will not have to apply again for recognition.
Prominent among other who were present in the meeting included DGSE Mr. Pardeep Aggarwal, Special Secretary Mr. Gurdeep Singh, DPI (Secondary Education) Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (Elementary Education) Mr. Harbans Singh Sandhu, and Director SCERT Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon.
