Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari at a religious gathering at the Gurudwara Sri Dukhniwaran Sahib at Ludhiana on Saturday.

Ludhiana, July 6, 2013: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari has said that charitable organisations are playing an important role for the welfare of the humanity by rending selfless services to the poor and needy.

Addressing a religious gathering at the Gurudwara Sri Dukhniwaran Sahib, he said these organisations are supplementing the efforts of the Union Govt. to provide healthcare to all.

He said that the health scenario of the Country has improved so many fold and heath infrastructure has been strengthened with the implementation of National Rural Health Mission. On this occasion, Tewari presented a cheque of grant of Rs. 10 lakh for the construction of building of Sri Dukhniwaran Charitable Dispensary to the president of the Gurudwara Management Committee Pritpal Singh Pali.

Tewari assured more help for this social cause.

The Management Committee honoured Manish Tewari with a Siropa and a memento.

Among others, Surinder Dawar, MLA, Malkiat Singh Dakha, Former Minister, Pawan Dewan, DCC President, Leader of opposition in MC Hemraj Aggarwal, Ashok Prashar Pappi, Rakesh Prashar, MC, Parminder Mehta, Harinder Singh Sachdewa and Sushil Prashar were present.
