Ludhiana, January 15, 2016: LETS Organized Symposium on Green Manufacturing presided by Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board. While reacting to the points of the Memorandum submitted by Sh.Avtar Singh, CEO-LETS, he announced as under.
 ?   VDS Scheme for grant of consent under concessional rate extended up to 30.06.2016.
?   PPCB will organize Seminars to Control Water & Air Pollution at different locations in Punjab with the cooperation of LETS.
?   Technical Committee each at Ludhiana, Mohali and Jalandhar comprising Chief Engineer and leading industrialists will be formed for making recommendations to PPCB for improvement in Pollution Norms.
?   PPCB will establish Helpdesk at CICU Complex for submission of online applications.
?   More effluent water as per agreement can be supplied to CETP for treatment.
?   Green Category consent is provided up to ten years. Automatic Consent under green category will be implemented shortly after getting Punjab Government Approval.  
Sh. Avtar Singh, CEO-LETS presented memorandum to Sh. Manpreet Singh Chatwal,  Chairman, PPCB highlighting main industrial issues comprising VDS Scheme for Grant of Consent under Concessional Rate, Grant of Unconditional Consent up to 2018 to Units Operating in Mix-land Use Area, Ludhiana, Approval for Setting up Electroplating Cluster and its Common Effluent Treatment Plant at Ludhiana, Providing Subsidy for Controlling Pollution, Levy of Consent Fee on Machinery Related to Pollution, Waiver for Submission of Approved Building Plan in Designated Industrial Areas, Organizing Seminar by PPCB with the Support of LETS, Providing Help-Desk for Online Applications for Renewal of Consent/Grant of New Consent, Conducting Awareness Program on Disposal of Industrial Waste, Grant of Permanent Consent for Green Category Units, Publishing Latest Comprehensive Guidelines on Pollution Clearance For Industrial Units, Waving Penalty Charges, Waiver for Furnishing Bank Guarantee, Granting Certificate of Excellence and Allowing Treatment of Effluent Through R.O. System.

?   Green Manufacturing by Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja, Group Managing Director, New Swan Enterprises highlighting that industry at large needs to develop comprehensive plan for Green Manufacturing to address Green Energy, Green Products and Green Processes in industrial operations.
?   On activities of “Go Green” a Pollution Control Committee by Coordinator, Sh. S.B. Singh and its after effects i.e. Kaizen Competition regarding Minimizing Water Consumption by Eastman Cast & Forge and Model Zinc Plating Plant an initiative by New Swan Enterprises .
?   Vision 2017 “Clean & Green Ludhiana” by Sambhav an NGO.
?   R & D through vermi technology being practiced at Baroda by Sh. R.K. Goyal, XEN, PPCB.
