CELEBRATIONS HELD on conferring Padam Shri on Vandana Luthra

Celebrations being held in VLCC Center, Ferozepur road, Ludhiana on Tuesday, in view of Padam Shri Award conferred on the VLCC Founder and Mentor Vandana Luthra on the occasion of Nation’s 64th Republic Day on January 26.

Ludhiana, January 29, 2013: Celebrations were held in VLCC Center, Ferozepur road, Ludhiana today, in view of Padam Shri Award conferred on the VLCC Founder and Mentor Vandana Luthra on the occasion of Nation’s 64th Republic Day on January 26.

The award has been conferred on Vandana Luthra for recognising her efforts and remarkable contribution to the society.

Speaking at a gathering held at VLCC Centre, on Ferozepur road, Ludhiana on Tuesday, the Center’s in-charge Prabha Maya Prasad said she and other thousands of girls were happy that they were associated to Vandana Luthra.

On the occasion, she distributed sweets among all those present.

 A video conferencing was also done with Vandana on the occasion. Prabha and Staff members “offered” sweets to Vandana during video conferencing, to express their sentiments.

Interacting with Prabha and other staff members, Vandana Luthra said, “I am honoured to receive the Padma Shri and am humbled to have been accorded with such a prestigious award. I feel my biggest contribution has been to be able to empower people with the skills and training to live healthier and fulfilling lives. I have always believed that a healthy population makes for a healthy nation. I hope my contribution in this space will continue making a difference in the lives of people."

Further, Luthra thanked President of India Pranab Mukherjee and said this success was not of her alone. Rather, this had been possible only because of dedication and hard working by thousands of employees of VLCC. She said this award was a proof of faith being shown by crores of people in the functioning of VLCC. She told that she had accepted the award as a team leader. She said she was feeling a sense of more responsibility after receiving the award, adding her team would have to remain more vigilant and better performer in providing services to people.

Area Technical Head Ishwinder Kaur termed the Vandana’s honour as the honour of women entrepreneurship. She believed that women working in other spheres would surely get inspired.

Among others, ACM Surbhi Verma, Accounts Officer Raj Malik, Dr. Karishma Bose, Dietician Chitra, Parminder and Dr. Megha were present.
