Bharatiya Mahila Bank inaugurates its 46th branch in Jalandhar

Jalandhar, February 23, 2015: Bharatiya Mahila Bank Ltd inaugurated its Jalandhar branch, the 46th branch of the Bank in the country, on Monday.  S.M.Swathi, Executive  Director of the Bank said that the Bank is on a rapid expansion mode and will be opening 34 more branches by end March 2015. The Bank, being highly tech savvy, has already introduced BMB Smartbanking, the internet banking facility, with many value added features, including opening of Fixed Deposit and Recurring Deposit accounts and availment of premature closure facility on these, if required. The Bank will make optimum use of the technology to cater to the needs of all segments of customers, she added.

Highlighting the women centric product portfolio of the Bank,  S. M. Swathi said that the Bank focuses on rolling out more special products that will help women become entrepreneurs. BMB Annapurna is for women to start catering service units right from their homes; BMB Parvarish helps women run child day care centres, BMB Shringaar is for setting up beauty salons. Komal Kali is a unique recurring deposit product for the benefit of the girl child, she said.

She further added that the Bank, keen on women empowerment, conducts Financial Literacy camps on every Saturday, through all its branches.

Earlier, Dr. Sushma Chawla, Director, Chawla Nursing Home, inaugurating the branch lauded the efforts of the Bank towards economic empowerment of women. All the branches of the Bank are on CBS and with onsite ATMs.
