FARMERS HAVING LESS THAN 5 ACRE LAND TO GET ANNUAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OF RS 6000
Ludhiana, February 24, 2019: For educating the farmers about the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, a district level awareness camp was organised at the office of Chief Agriculture Officer, Ludhiana, here today. This camp was attended by a large number of farmers.
Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Baldev Singh informed that under this scheme, financial assistance would be provided to small and marginal farmers. He said that the eligible farmers can submit their forms at Cooperative Societies by February 25, even if any farmer is not a member of the society.
An amount of Rs 6,000 per year shall be credited to the bank account of small farmers directly in three equal installments of RS 2,000 each. Funds at the rate of Rs 2,000, as first installment of the scheme shall come in the bank accounts of the farmers by the end of this month.
During the camp, the farmers saw the live transmission of the Prime Minister’s address regarding this scheme from Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh). A large number of progressive farmers led by Project Director ATMA Mr Jaspreet Singh also attended this camp.
Cooperative Bank Manager Mr Davinderpal Singh informed that in district Ludhiana, around 59,000 farmers have already got themselves registered and their data has been uploaded on the portal.
