Shiromani Akali Dal demands case against cops who fired on Jail inmates, resignation of Jail Minister

Ludhiana, June 29, 2019: The Shiromani Akali Dal has demanded case against cops who had fired bullets on Jail inmates and resignation of Jail Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. The party has also demanded the government to reveal that on whose directions firing was ordered.

The Shiromani Akali Dal leadership led by former Minister and MLA from Sahnewal Sharanjit Singh Dhillon met the family members of Sunny Sood who died in Jail.

Talking to media, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that the Jail staff has no right to assault the inmates.

MLA said that after the jail inmates raised their voice against the torture, the police opened fire on Jail inmates. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that the Jail inmates were not possessing any weapons or arms and there was no reason of firing.

Accompanied by SAD district president Ranjit Singh Dhillon, Youth president Gurdeep Singh Gosha, Baba Ajit Singh, Vijay Danav, Jagbir Singh Sokhi, Surinder Kaur Dyal, Manpreet Singh Manna, Satish Malhotra, Gurinderpal Pappy, Yashpal Chaudhary, Kanoj Danav, Lovely Dua, Varun Malhotra, Maninder Singh Laddi and Tarandeep Sunny, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that they will support family in getting justice and launch agitation against government in demand of action against guilty cops and resignation of Jail Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.
