Assistant Labour Commissioner calls up meeting with ZHL and union leaders

Ludhiana, February 6, 2013: In connection with the meeting of Assistant Labour Commissioner at Ludhiana with management of Ziqitza Health Care Ltd  on Thursday (ZHL),  the company’s Project Head Punjab Jitendra Sharma and Senior Manager Marketing and Quality Tarun Verma said regarding the solutions for the confusion created by the so called union leaders of 108 ambulances services, Assistant Labour Commissioner had called up a meeting with ZHL in Ludhiana  Office, alongwith union leaders.
Both the company representatives said as the legal advisors of the company were not able to attend the meeting, in so short notice so Rohit Katri – who was authorised representative from ZHL had asked for the next date of meeting, and updated Assistant Labour Commissioner that company was working in five states and operation of 108 ambulance services were running smoothly in Rajasthan, Punjab, Bihar, Kerala, and now soon to start in Orissa under public private partnership with the state government.

They further told that nothing had been committed by Assistant Labour Commissioner and company side in the meeting.

“And next meeting will be conducted on February 27 in Ludhiana office”, they revealed. 

They said the company was responsible and liable to follow all the norms of the Minimum Wages as well as, Labour Law of the state and doing the same from 2011. 
“Company is determined to provide the quality services to the people of Punjab. Company is backing up with the additional manpower for the replacement of EMT or Pilots who are not following the company Rules and Regulation and trying to disrupt the services in their personal vest Interest”, they said.

Ziqitza Health Care Ltd is operating 240 ambulances across Punjab from  April 3, 2011- in Public Private Partnership Model, under the supervision of PHSC and NRHM. 

In Punjab,  all the ambulance crew in the company are on contractual basis for one year only and post reviewing the working of last year any employee can be given the opportunity to extend the contract period with the annual appraisal, many employee has been given appraisal in their salary accordingly.
Each employee has been briefed for job responsibility, working hours and salary package in writing, well before joining the company for one year contract period. 
With the support of field staff ZHL has served more than 4 lakh people across Punjab. “But some people in the field staff with vested interests, are creating problems and misguiding other ambulance crew, to disrupt the services”, said the company’s release.
