Ludhiana, September 7, 2018: Architect Sanjay Goel one of the directors of Ludhiana Smart City Ltd and Chairman of Punjab Architects delivered his lecture through presentation on smart cities scenario in India during 4th annual Sustainable Smart Cities India Summit held in Sterling Mac Bangalore on 6th September. He was also one of the panelists in panel discussion on smart cities. Mr A B Ibrahim, I.A.S. Managing Director, Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation was the Chief Guest. Presentations on smart cities were also given by Rajesh Phadke - Chief Architect and Planner Gujarat Gift City, Bhavin Sheth - Director Bhubaneshwar Smart Cities Limited, R Srinivas - Head Metropolitan Division Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Joy Verghese - MD Collier International, Bijay Kumar Swain GM projects - Bhubaneshwar Smart Cities Limited and many more experts involved in Smart City Mission. Ar.Sanjay Goel in his presentation explained that speed of work in upcoming smart cities including Ludhiana is very slow. Coordination among multi-agencies is also less and citizens are suffering and waiting for quality healthier and livable life as soon as possible. He also emphasized that full time non transferable CEO must be there for fast progress on smart cities mission. Role of town planners and architects is very important and they must be included in SPV of all upcoming smart cities. Less than 5% work could be completed for pan India during last three years. Chandigarh is first young as well as smart city of India and we all must learn a lot from it.
