Jalandhar, March 18, 2015: A spectacular closing ceremony of Apeejay Svran International Design and Performing Arts Week reunited dignitaries of great heights, 33 Delegates from other countries and Apeejayites for the last time. Babul Supriyo, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation honoured the eve as the Chief Guest followed by a warm welcome by Sushma Paul Berlia, President, Apeejay Education Society, Vijay Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Svran Group, Aditya Berlia, Member, Apeejay Education Society, Principal, Dr. Sucharita.

As expected, the closure show was an amazing and absolutely sparkling event. Thunderously applauded performance by Babul Supriyo, who is a well known singer of Bollywood, filled the souls of audience with amazement. He along with college student Anadi Mishra enthralled the audience while playing  his beats on the band.

Sushma Paul Berlia thanked all the contributors involved in making the celebrations a true success. She added it was extremely pleasant experience to see foreigners observing and learning the details of our rich culture and their presence has given unforgettable and captivating scenes. It is a matter of pride for Apeejay that it has opened the gates for exchanging cultures and traditions of diversified countries. The atmosphere could not have been better and Apeejay feels honoured to see that the delegates go home with a smile on their faces.

Speaking on stage, Principal Dr. Sucharita said this is not a one-time event. For the future, the college will continue to concentrate on the full integration of people interested in learning Arts, Design and Music etc. and this event has proven Apeejay is always ready to break the limits of borders and bring admirers of art at one stage. She thanked all the delegates, honoured guests, learned resource persons and esteemed foreign delegates for making the event a great success.

The curtain was brought to close with Apeejay's most awaited event Indo-China Fashion Show, it was on the level of an International show and it proved the talents of Apeejay's budding designers and models. There were 16 rounds presented on the stage displaying the dresses ranging from the 'Ghats of Ganges', 'Kumb Mela', 'Highway Truck Art', 'Royal Clothes of Udaipur' to 'Chinese Garden and Flowers', 'Breakfast at Tiffony', Spanish Cultural Dresses'. Chinese delegates could be seen walking on ramp presenting their 'Traditional and Folk Clothing'. The theme of their clothes was 'Ancient clothing of China' representing costumes of Tibbetonne, Miao, Qiang and Yi.

Babul Supriyo congratulated Apeejay for completion of its 40 fruitful years and said Apeejay has produced many great Artists in the fields of TV, Films, Music and Design. He felt elated to be here.

On completion of Apeejay's 40 glorious years, Babul Supriyo, Sushma Paul Berlia, Vijay Berlia, Aditya Berlia and Dr. Sucharita released 'Souvenir'. They along with Rajni Kumar, Chief Editor, Anil Gupta, Consultant and Gagan Gambhir, Consultant also released 'Descriptio', an International Journal of Design. For the organisers, these fantastic 40th Anniversary celebrations turned out to be a source of satisfaction.
