Annual Sports Meet being organised at KCLIMT & Lyallpur Khalsa College of Engineering at Jalandhar on Saturday.
Jalandhar, March 21, 2015: The 4th Annual sports meet was organised jointly by KCLIMT & Lyallpur Khalsa College of Engineering to enhance the playing capabilities of students and keep them physically fit. Centenarian marathon Fauja Singh graced the occasion as chief guest in order to motivate the students. He was presented token of gratitude by Balbir Kaur (President, Governing Council), Jaspal Singh Waraich (Joint Secretary), Sukhbir Singh Chatha (Director, Academic Affairs), Dr.S.K Sood (Director, KCLIMT) and Prof G.K Jain (Vice Principal) Fauja Singh is runner of Punjabi Sikh descent. He is a world record holder in his age bracket. His current personal best time for the London Marathon (2003) is 6 hours 2 minutes, and his marathon record, for age 90-plus, is 5 hours 40 minutes at the age of 92, at the 2003 Toronto Waterfront Marathon.
The event started by Flag March by the students of KCLIMT & LKCE.
After that chief guest declared the sports meet open. Then Dr S.K Sood (Director) welcomed all the guests and stated that in both the colleges our main aim of organising all these events is to develop overall personality of the students.
Dr.Y.S Randhawa ( Director,LKCE ) Declared the sports meet close and he appreciated the efforts of students & staff for organising such a successful event.
Cricket trophy was won by Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College of Engineering.
Overall Trophy was won by KCL Institute of Management & Technology.
