Annual reflector promotion campaign 2014 launched by CII Ludhiana Zone

A view of annual reflector promotion campaign 2014 being launched by CII Ludhiana Zone at Ludhiana on Thursday.

Ludhiana, November 13, 2014: Continuing its efforts for the development of society and to spread awareness on the Traffic and Road Safety issues, CII Ludhiana Chapter in association with Ludhiana Police Department, today launched its “Reflector Stickerpromotion Campaign 2014” at Avon Cycles Limited, Ludhiana. Nearly 1000 specially designed Reflectors stickers were installed on to the bicycles and old two - wheelers during this campaign.
Dr. Richa Agnihotri, Assistant Commissioner of Police- Traffic, Ludhiana joined this launch ceremony as the Chief Guest and herself installed reflector stickers on the  workers bicycles and shared her views, “Obeying the traffic rules and self consciousness about the road safety is very important for everyone, this will not only save  our life, but other lives too. Especially during the upcoming winter foggy seasons more people dies because of road accidents than from some other diseases or illness, especially at Focal Point & Industrial Areas”. Dr. Richa also appreciated the CII’s effort to spread awareness on Road and Traffic Safety issues via a campaign like this and applauded the initiative CII have taken with the Ludhiana Police in the past on important issues related to City development.
Ajay Nayar, Chairman, CII Ludhiana Zone & CEO, FMI Limited said, “CII Ludhiana took this initiative  2- 3 years back with the support of Ludhiana Police Department and now it is our important annual event and we have always received a very positive response from the companies too in which these campaigns were organised during the previous years. We are happy to organise it this year also. Moreover in a city like Ludhiana where the factory workers and migrant population contribute to a good percentage of total population, it is important that they should be educated properly on Traffic & Road safety. We believe that this kind of initiative will definitely help in lowering the number of accidents, specially occurring during the winter season. We will really feel happy if these reflectors are able to save few lives, which is the motive behind this whole campaign. CII Ludhiana will soon launch a similar campaign to spread awareness on safe driving by encouraging city residents to obeying traffic rules and help accidental victims. We also appreciate the continuous efforts being made by Ludhiana Police regarding road safety for its residents”.
