Annual Prize Distribution & Manoranjan Mela Organised For Students Of Schools Run Under National Child Labour Project

Ludhiana, April 3, 2016: The District Administration in collaboration with several NGOs working together under the National Child Labour Project today organised Annual Prize Distribution and Manoranjan Mela for the students of 33 schools run under this project in the district. More than 1,600 students of these schools participated in this function which was organised in the main auditorium of Government College for Girls, here today.
This is for the first time that this function was organised at such a grand scale. Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion while Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Miss Apneet Riyait was the guest of honour.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Ravi Bhagat said that this is for the first time that such a function has been organised for the students of 33 schools run under National Child Labour Project in the district. He urged the students to work hard if they want to succeed in life. He said that the Punjab government as well as the District Administration would always assist the NGOs for the smooth functioning of these schools, which have been started as a social cause.
Miss Apneet Riyait said that for boosting the morale of these students, a sports day function would also be organised soon. She said that majority of the students who took part in this function today have performed for the first time on stage. She said that such functions would help the students in their life in long run.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mr Shiv Ram Saroye from Ann Jal Sewa Trust, Mr Avtar Singh, besides several others.
