Amritsar, October 27, 2014: All the necessary arrangements have been made for the conduct of annual election to Guru Nanak Dev University (Non-Teaching) Employees Association-2014-15 scheduled for October 29, said Dr. Darya, Returning Officer.
He said, the employees would cast their votes at the main campus at Amritsar from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm in the Sangat Hall of the Guru Nanak Bhawan of the University. At University Regional Campus, Jalandhar, the voting would be held from 10 am to 1 pm while the employees at the University Regional Campus, Gurdaspur would use their voting right from 10 am to 12 noon. The counting of votes would be held on the same evening from 5 pm till the results are out.
Dr. Darya said that there are two fronts in the fray. The Democratic Employees Front (DEF) led by Ajmer Singh is contesting the election on the symbol of Rose Flower while the University Karamchari Democratic Front (UKDF) headed by Hardeep Singh Nagra is contesting the election on the symbol of Ud daa Baaz (Flying Hawk).
The Returning Officer further said that the candidates contesting the election under the Democratic Employees Front (DEF) are: Ajmer Singh (for President), Harpal Singh (Senior Vice-President), Harjinder Singh Bath (Vice-President), Jagir Singh (Secretary), Santokh Singh Padda (Joint Secretary), Gurpreet Singh, (Secretary-Public Relations) and Harpreet Singh (Cashier).
The DEF contestants for Executive Members are: Avtar Singh, Surjit Singh, Harpinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Jasbir Singh, Zily Singh, Naresh Kumar, Paramjit Singh Sidhu, Bhoma Ram and Rup Chand.
Dr. Darya said that the University Karamchari Democratic Front (UKDF) contestants for office bearers are Hardeep Singh Nagra(for President), Bhagwant Singh Sidhu (Senior Vice-President), Gurdhir Singh Sarkaria (Vice-President), Balvir Singh Garcha, (Secretary), Manpreet Singh (Joint Secretary), Hardeep Singh (Secretary-Public Relations) and Aman Kumar Arora(Cashier).
The UKDF candidates contesting for Executive Members are: Avtar Singh, Satbir Singh, Sukhwinder Singh Brar, Surjit Singh, Hardeep Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Jyoti Parshad, Tejwant Singh Gill, Mahinder Singh and Rajinder Singh.
