Annual DMC Alumni Meet held with academic feast and nostalgic moments

A panel discussion was also held on the topic of ‘medical profession’ as a career option and level of stress in the profession Ludhiana: Annual DMC Alumni Meet ‘Lamhe…the nostalgic imprints’ was held yesterday in Hotel Nirvaana, which was attended by around 300 ex-alumni of DMCH. The day began with a CME programme held in morning in Auditorium of DMC College Campus. Lectures were delivered by Dr KS Banga from USA on ‘Latest Trends in Sports Medicine’ and Dr Aman Dua from Ludhiana spoke on ‘Look Beautiful, Stay Young (Latest ageing)’. A panel discussion was also held on the topic of ‘Medical Profession’ as a Career Option and Level of Stress in the profession. A large gathering of doctors from the city attended CME. After the CME, a round of Medical College and Hospital was taken by the alumni of Golden Jubilee Batch 1969 and Silver Jubilee Batch 1994. The alumni were amazed to see the remarkable developments in Hospital’s infrastructure and ultramodern facilities and services available to the patients of DMCH under one roof. The highlight of the day was ‘Annual Alumni Meet’ which was held late in the evening in the Hotel Nirvana. The meet was organized by DMC Alumni Committee. Chairperson of DMC Alumni Committee-Dr Puneet Aulakh Pooni (Professor & Head of Pediatrics, DMCH) extended warm welcome to all the alumni and dignitaries present on the occasion. In her address, Dr Pooni said that there is a need to develop network of all DMC Alumni settled around the world. Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta was invited as the chief guest along with other dignitaries including Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Vice-Principal Dr GS Wander, Dean Academics Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina and Medical Supdts. Dr Ashwini Chaudhary and Dr Sandeep Sharma. Principal Dr Sandeep Puri said that DMC Alumni Meet is like a home coming function for all the alumni, who had spent fruitful years of their life in making their professional career. The whole proceedings of the CME and Alumni Meet were very impressively conducted by Convenor of DMC Alumni Committee -Dr Shibba T Chabbra (Associate Professor of Cardiology, HDHI) along with Dr Hitant Vohra and Dr Omesh Goyal. Dr Shibba along with few other faculty members beautifully compared a show in the evening to make all alumni present there danced to old and new foot-tapping songs. Dr Shibba and Dr Amarinder (Joint Secretary, DMC Alumni Committee) made Alumni Meet evening most memorable and enjoyable by their tricks Secretary of DMC Alumni Committee- Dr Dinesh Jain (Professor of Medicine) proposed a vote of thanks to all the alumni present on the occasion and assure that in future, more such programmes and CMEs will be organized to further strengthen the bonding of all alumni of DMCH.
