Chandigarh, April 8, 2015: Anil Joshi, Minister for Local Bodies has showered high praise over the Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu for their announcement of proposed Rail link from Sri Anandpur Sahib to Sri Amritsar Sahib. In a appreciation letter towards Suresh Prabhu, Joshi today extended high regards and felicitations to Union Railway Minister for this initiative. Joshi also put forward a request before the railway minister to connect Tarn taran, Sri Khadoor Sahib and Sri Goindwal Sahib with this rail link.
The excerpt of the Demi Official Letter written by Anil Joshi to Union Railways Minister reads;
 “Esteemed Sir,
I must convey my sincere thanks and gratitude to you for your recent announcement of a train connecting the historical towns of Anandpur Sahib and Amritsar.
Your goodself may kindly appreciate that Tarn Taran is a historical place which had been founded by the fifth Sikh Guru Shri Guru Arjun Dev ji (1563-1606) and is situated at a distance of 20 kms from Amritsar on its southern side.  Adjoining Tarn Taran is another historical town of Khadoor Sahib where Shri Guru Angad Dev ji, the second Sikh Guru stayed for 13 years. On the same lines Goindwal Sahib is equally important from the religious point of view and the 3rd Sikh Guru Shri Amar Dass ji stayed here for 33 years.
It will be more appropriate that the proposed rail link may be commissioned Amritsar- Tarn Taran- Khadoor Sahib- Goindwal Sahib- Beas- Jalandhar—Anandpur Sahib so that the religious pilgrimage is encouraged in a big way.
I am confident that you will consider my request in the best interest of the residents of this beautiful state for the growth of religious tourism and for an all inclusive growth of society.
With respectful and personal regards.”
