Ferozepur, October 16, 2015: Situation became tense in village Naju Shah Mishri in Ferozepur where few unidentified miscreants torn off few pages of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ensconced in the village Gurdwara. As per the information available, construction work was under progress at the village Gurdwara due to which the Granthi had ensconced Sri Guru Granth Sahib in the adjoining room. When the Granthi returned back from lunch, he found that the pages of the holy granth were torn off.
The news spread like a wildfire. SGPC member Darshan Singh Sherkhan reached the spot to take stock of the situation but agitated villagers allegedly manhandled him and set his car and motorcycle on fire. Er. DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, Hardyal Singh Mann, SSP, Ferozepur reached the spot along with heavy police force. The Deputy Commissioner and the SSP tried to pacify the agitated villagers. Till now, the situation was quite tense in the village and heavy police force was deployed.
