Adopt Profitable Farming: PAU Expert To Rural Youths

Ludhiana, November 3, 2015: A three-month training course on “Crop Production” concluded at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today. Rural youths from various parts of Punjab participated in the course, held under the guidance of Dr R.S.Sidhu, Director of Extension Education.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr P.S.Aulakh, Additional Director of Extension Education, said, “Youth must make vital contribution to the agricultural production.” He urged the youth to make farming profitable by reaping maximum benefit from the technologies, developed by PAU. Later, he distributed certificates among the participants.

The Course Coordinator, Dr T.S. Riar said the experts delivered lectures and imparted practical training in crop production, insect-pest and disease management in various crops, agri-business, cultivation of horticultural crops, vegetable cultivation, crop diversification, soil science and dairy farming. He told the trainees participated very actively in the PAU Kisan Mela.

Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Professor of Extension Education, proposed the vote of thanks. During the course, participants were also made the members of PAU Kisan Club so that they can work as a part of PAU Doots.
