Chandigarh, December 31, 2015: The Education Department, Punjab has bestowed a new year gift to the teachers. The Department has promoted 907 E.T.T./J.B.T and C & V teachers in the Master cadre.
Disclosing this, D.P.I (Secondary) Mr Balbir Singh Dhol said that the list of all the promoted teachers in Master cadre has been uploaded on the departmental website and the appointment letters have been issued to them. The promoted teachers would join in the office of the District Education Officer (D.E.O.) of their respective districts and the choice stations would be allotted to them as per merit after issuing the list of vacant stations.
Divulging more, the spokesman said that the matter of the promotion of these teachers was pending for a long time and the Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, taking personal interest in the matter, had formed a committee to solve the issue. The committee paved the way for the promotion of these teachers who had completed mandatory period of 8 years before the Right To Education Act came into force.
The spokesman further elaborated that these promoted teachers include 365 Punjabi, 275 Hindi, 98 Mathematics, 79 D.P.E.s, 61 Social Science, 22 Science, 4 Sanskrit and 3 Agriculture teachers. The spokesman also divulged that out of the 907 promoted teachers, 674 belong to E.T.T./J.B.T. cadre while 283 belong to C & V cadre.
