80 year old who walk on 2nd day after bilateral hip replacement surgery at Fortis Hospital Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, November 28, 2015: An 80 year old patient, resident of Jagraon, presented with fractures of both hips at Fortis Hospital Ludhiana. Dr Neeraj Bansal and his team operated upon the patient successfully in single sitting and patient was able to walk full weight bearing on 2nd day after surgery. The duration of the surgery was less than 90 minutes.
‘The patient was in pain and was not able to walk or sit. The patient was hypertensive for last 15 years. Moreover, the age of patient was also consideration while taking the patient was surgery’, said Dr Bansal. Dr Bansal informed that the incidence of bilateral hip fracture is not very common. Usually these types of fractures happen in young epileptic patients besides trauma.
Mr Vivan Gill, Facility Director, informed that Fortis hospital Ludhiana is well equipped with all facilities and technology required for these complex surgeries.
