Jalandhar, May 11, 2016: The Investiture Ceremony of IB PYP at Cambridge International Foundation School for the academic session 2016-17 was held in a special assembly at the school premises. It was conducted with a high degree of sincerity and enthusiasm. The momentous ceremony commenced with the lamp lightning by the Mr.J.K.Kohli – Executive Director LWES, Ms.Deepa Dogra – Chief Academic Director LWES, Honorable Chief guest Mr. A.S. Sikand (Sports Coordinatoe, LWES), accompanied by Principal Mr. Stanley Anthony and Education Directors - Ms. Kiranjoth Dhillon, Ms. Preeti Sharma & Ms. Meenu Huria, followed by a prayer song.
The esteemed Chief Guest Mr. A.S. Sikand has 45 years of experience in the field of Sports and Education. He has a very good working experience in various Institutions at different posts. He is a National award winner in Physical Education and also National Gold Medalist in college and University.
The Principal and chief guest conferred the badges and sash to the elected students. With pride and a sense of achievement surging in their hearts, the students stepped towards oath taking ceremony where they followed the PYP student council President – Rhea Gupta, urging the new Council to have a clear conscience while delineating their duties. The PYP Student Council consists of: Sunmeet Kaur as Vice President, Ridham as Discipline Incharge, Harshpreet Kaur as Organiser, Simerjeet Singh as Treasurer.
Mr. A.S. Sikand in his address emphasized and stressed on the importance of honesty, integrity and hard work as vital qualities for positions of dignity. Mr. Stanley Anthony - Principal, Cambridge International School, encouraged the budding leaders with words of wisdom.
With these responsibilities placed on their firm shoulders, the newly appointed office-bearers silently vowed to act as role models for the rest of the school to emulate. This moment of pride was witnessed by the students of PYP Grades 1 to 5 and the parents of the newly elected PYP student council members. Smiling and jubilant, the Student Council marched ahead, and the ceremony culminated with attention to National Anthem.
