47th Annual General Meeting of UCPMA

Ludhiana, September 24, 2014: The 47th An nual General meeting of United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), Ludhiana was held at Dayanand Munjal Auditorium. Total 1200 members were present.
Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma President (UCPMA) welcomed the guests and dignities, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Cabinet Minister Punjab and Prof.Rajinder Bhandari were Chief Guest and Haracharan Singh Golwaria, Mayor, Ludhiana along with Mahesh inder Singh Grewal, senior advisor to Chief Minister were Guest of Honour and permitted to start the AGM.  They all were welcomed by the president and Manjit Singh Khalsa along with office bearers of the Association.
Meeting started with Rajeev Jain General Secretary read the minutes of the last AGM of 2013. These were confirmed by the house. Further he requested Acchru Ram Finance Secretary to get the balance sheet approved  from the house and  asked the house if they have any objection or query regarding the Balance sheet. Everyone approved the balance sheet with applause.
Bal Mahajan & Company C.A were appointed auditor for the next year as approved by the house.
Agenda No. 4 for increase of annual fee and member ship fee was cancelled by the president and was seconded by the house. So it was dropped.
 On this occasion, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, thanked the president and the office bearers for inviting him of AGM he assured that the problems of the industry will be solved on priority and efforts are being made to solve the problem of mix land use areas. He said there is no fee to industry/hotels /hospitals are exempted for CLU charges, he said that land for skill development centre has already being given to industry. About VAT he said all efforts are being made to release maximum VAT of the industry so that they can work at ease.  Three prizes were taken out by Maheshinder Grewal.
Golwaria also thanked the Association for inviting him and said that we should have wide thinking and should think about the city, and solve issues collectively. He said that funds from the ministry of MSME are available for the infrastructure development and already talked to Dhillon Director MSME regarding the infrastructure development and proposals to be made so that the pace of development is made faster. He is also taking initiative for the development of cycle tracks in Ludhiana. He has already told the engineers to give proper report of the width roads so that in that road proper cycling tracks has to be made for the betterment of cyclists.
Rajendra Bhandari, Vice Chairman, Punjab State Planning Board thanked the association for inviting him on this important occasion of UCPMA. He told that before doing anything the mind has to be set for that particular work then only the work will be accomplished. He told the importance of the association for any members. Association is made for the welfare of the people. He said that he had made cluster for the electroplating department and asked them in which place they want to shift. They told that they don’t want to shift from the place where they are situated right now. He told that he is pressuring the Government for VAT refund.
Sharanjit Singh Dhillon also thanked the association for inviting him and appraised that all the [problems related to VAT, electricity problems, Mix Land area will be solved at the earliest. He informed the house that southern bypass will dedicated to the public within few days.
Small and micro industrialists were honoured with the mementos from the chief Guest for their self standing in the industry.
