4 New M.Voc. and B.Voc. Courses added to KMV D.D.U. Kaushal Kendra

Jalandhar, October 3, 2018: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar’s D.D.U Kaushal Kendra has been granted 4 New Programmes by UGC. Throwing light on this singular achievement, Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal KMV averred that KMV was the first college under GNDU to be awarded Deen Dyal Upadhayay Kaushal Kendra in the year 2015. Since its inception six skill development courses namely B.Voc. in Animation, B.Voc. in Retail Management, B.Voc. in Management & Secretarial Practices, B.Voc. in Nutrition, Exeercise & Health, BVoc in Textile Design and Apparel Technology & BVoc in Photography & Journalism have been running very successfully. This year UGC has granted 3 M.Voc. and one B.Voc. Program namely-
• B.Voc. in Beauty and Wellness
• M.Voc. in Animation & VFX
• M.Voc. in Retail & Management
• M.Voc. in Textile Design & Apparel Technology
Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi further adumbrated that the curriculum for the above mentioned programs has been diligently designed by the experts from the industry concerned sector Skill Councils identified by the NSDC and the academia in the field.
All the undergraduate courses offer multiple exit levels, which are as follows:
1. Certificate on completion of six months.
2. Diploma on completion of 1 year.
3. Advanced Diploma on completion of 2 years.
4. Degree on completion of 3 years.
5. PG Diploma on completion of 1 year.
6. Degree on completion of 2 years.
The students joining these courses are trained on Qualification based on Industry identified job roles with more focus on Hands-on training and practical component. They appear in sector skill assessment at each exit level as mentioned above.
The student when successfully complete the assessment process are awarded with Certificate issued by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Govt of India along with regular degree awarded by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
These courses which strive for skill development of the pursuant offer various job avenues to the students. B.Voc. in Beauty & Wellness can help the pursuant become beauty therapist, beautician, makeup artist, cosmetic advisor, salon manager, hair care trainer & specialist, beauty advisor, marketing advisor, institute head etc, After M.Voc in Animation and VFX, one can become VFX Production Manager, Animation Film Maker, 2D/3D Animator, VFX Artist, Modelling Artist, Texturing Artist. M.Voc in Retail Management offers avenues as Cluster Manager/Area Manager, Zonal Manger/Regional Manager. M.Voc. in Textile Design and Apparel Technology enables a student to become Boutique Manager, Production Developer, Production Manager, Industrial Engineer, Visual Merchandiser, and Fashion Coordinator.
Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded Dr. Gopi Sharma, Director DDU Kaushal Kendra and the faculty of Kaushal Kendra for their concerted efforts towards the growth of Kaushal Kendra. Over the years many students have got placed in various jobs after pursuing these vocational courses.
