Jalandhar, November 22, 2018: A Documentary/Short Film Competition “Frames 2018” was organized by the Department of Media Studies, CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan campus.

In this, 20 teams from various colleges of Punjab namely GNDU Regional Campus,

Ladhewali, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, AS College, Khanna, HMV College, Lovely Professional University, GNA University, DAV College, Trinity College etc participated.

The participants highlighted various social issues in their films like Wastage of Food, Cleanliness, Women Safely, Child Labor, Female Feticide, Social Media and Technology – A Boon or Bane, Drugs etc. They were judged by Chief Guests. famous comedian duo Gurpreet Singh and Prabhpreet Singh popularly known as Shugli-Jugli. The Judges who are experienced Script-Writers, are also actively involved in production of various TV Programmes, Short Films etc. through their studio “Funjabi Studio”. They judged the films made by students on various parameters like Concept, Creativity/Originality, Execution, Enactment and Technical/Production Quality.

Campus Director Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami along with Birinder Singh, Head – Dept. of Media Studies, Tarun Sharma, Head – Computer Applications and Judges Mr. Gurpreet Singh and Mr. Prabhpreet Singh gave the Certificates and Cash Prizes to the winners. The first prize was bagged by Trinity College with a cash prize of Rs. 5,100 whereas second and third prizes were bagged by the teams from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar and AS College, Khanna along with the cash prizes of Rs 3,100 and Rs 2,100 respectively. The Consolation prize was given to the students from GNA University, Phagwara.

Dr.Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Campus Director said, “The key objective of organizing this competition was to raise various social issues and to aware and ignite the young minds. Students from various colleges have put in their wonderful effort in making these films for the competition.”
