12 outstanding students to get Drishti Punjab Award

The Canada’s social organisation Drishti Punjab distributes Rs 50000 cash awards each to the 12 outstanding students on Wednesday.

Chandigarh, February 18, 2015: There just a handful of people who stay connected with their roots while being overseas. Drishti Punjab is one such organisation of Canada that is run by people who answer their root’s beckoning. The organisation is a ray of hope for the intelligent and needy students studying in government schools of Punjab.
The Canada’s social organisation Drishti Punjab distributed Rs 50000 cash awards each to the 12 outstanding students today. The awards were given to government school students who are economically weak and have scored meritorious position in the merit list of Punjab School Education Board (PSEB). This was the fourth felicitation ceremony of Drishti Punjab.
The awardees were as under: Sachindeep Kaur from Government High School Bhagwangarh (Bathinda), Mohit Kumar from Government Senior Secondary School Diwankhera (Fazilka), Satish Kumar from Government Senior Secondary School Datarpur (Hoshiarpur), Harpreet Kaur from Government Senior Secondary School  Bagpur Sataur (Hoshiarpur), Harminder Kaur from Dr Ala Singh Kalkat Memorial Government Girls Senior Secondary School Urmur Tanda, Randeep Kaur from Government Senior Seocndary School Dhipali (Bathinda), Vishali from Government High School Dadauli (Rupnagar), Bahwan Sharma from Government Girls High School Nurpur Bedi (Rupnagar), Jaspreet Kaur from Government Senior Secondary School Chuangra (SBS Nagar), Gursewak Singh from Government Senior Secondary School Burj Dhilwan (Mansa), Chandni from Government Girls Senior Secondary School (Rupnagar) and Navpreet Kaur from Government Senior Secondary School Jarsi Kalota (Hoshiarpur).
Those present on the occasion, included MP Avinash Rai Khanna, Punjab government media advisor Vineet Joshi, Canadian NRI Joginder Singh Grewal,  Lalit Sharma, Drishti Punjab’s Punjab convener Khushal Lalli, social worker Ashok Saida, social worker and Chandigarh cop Inspector Ram Dyal, social worker and Drishti Punjab’s Punjab member Kamaljit Singh Dhindsa, Harmail Singh Khakh, Master Sanjiv Kumar Mothapur, senior journalist Balbir Jandu, Sarabjit Pandher, Chandigarh Press Club secretary Manjit Singh Sidhu and former president Chandigarh Press Club Sukhbir Singh Bajwa.
