Jalandhar, March 1, 2016: Showcasing the culinary talent by the students of St Soldier Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology; a 100 feet long cake was made by them in 100 minutes. Vice-Chairperson Sangeeta Chopra told that it is an attempt to enter into Limca Book of Record. Our students have shown their profession and readiness for the hospitality sector. She said “More than eighty students under the Guidance of Prof. Sameer Thakur Principal St. Soldier Hotel Management, Vice –Principal Sandeep Lohani and the supervision of the Head of Food Production and Bakery Department Manish Kumar completed the given task in 100 minutes. The cake was decorated in tri color of Orange, White and Green dedicated to the martyrs and the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our motherland.”
Prof. Manhar Arora Managing Director explained that everything that is needed to prepare the 100 feet cake was prepared by our students in the bakery lab. Complete team work was demonstrated by the students as they could finish the attempted assignment with success well before the stipulated time. It is important to mention here that every participant has done this big assignment for the first time as no one has the prior experience of making such a long cake. Chairman Anil Chopra congratulated the staff and students creating a history in the region for successfully making 100ft long cake in 100 minutes.
